Halloween-Themed Q&A with Sami Callihan – Favorite Horror Movies, More

IMPACT WRESTLING SUPER-VILLAIN SAMI CALLIHAN OPENS UP ABOUT HIS LOVE FOR ALL THINGS HORROR IN A SPECIAL HALLOWEEN Q&A
The Buckeye Brawler Shares His Favorite Horror Movies, Reveals the Slasher Icon He’d Like To Tag-Team With, Weighs in on the Candy Corn Debate, & More
LOS ANGELES – October 25, 2019 – IMPACT Wrestling’s own Sami Callihan, the hard-hitting brawler and devoted disciple of oVe (Ohio Versus Everything), recently sat down to discuss his life-long love of all things Horror to celebrate the upcoming All Hallows’ Eve. Halloween and Horror Movies have claimed a special place in Callihan’s heart from an early age, thanks to his Horror-loving family who instilled in him a deep appreciation for Elm Street, Elvira, and everything in-between. In this insidious interview, Callihan explains how the Horror genre has shaped his wrestling career, reveals the movie that traumatized him as a child, opens up about the personal meaning behind his Elvira tattoo, and finally settles the age-old debate on the highly divisive seasonal treat candy corn, among other terrifying topics.
What is the first Horror Movie you can remember watching?
Sami Callihan: I have to say the first Nightmare On Elm Street. It’s still one of my favorite Horror Movies of all time. I remember seeing it when I was really little. Watching Horror movies was one of my first memories as a child, because my family were big Horror Movie fans, so they raised me to be such. They were always the kind of family that was like, ‘This is fake, this isn’t real.’ So, I wasn’t afraid of it when I was younger.
Which Horror Movie really scared you as a kid?
SC: Child’s Play. 100%. Up until I was a little bit older, Child’s Play was the scariest thing to me. My brothers used to torment me when I was little with a Chucky replica doll that our family had. It messed me up for years, until I was probably like 10 or 11 years old.
On his love for Ghostbusters:
SC: Ghostbusters was absolutely my favorite thing as a child, outside of Horror. I remember when people would ask ‘What do you want to be when you get older?’, it was either pro wrestler or Ghostbuster. Then I realized Ghostbuster wasn’t a real occupation, so I went with pro wrestler.
How has Horror helped shape your in-ring persona?
SC: I’m a huge Universal Monsters fan. Dracula, Frankenstein, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Wolf-Man. I wanted to be a character like that was completely over the top. But through time, that had to evolve. It became a more Devil’s Rejects, House Of 1,000 Corpses-type character, and then it went from there to an American Psycho-style character. Right now, I’ve just kind of become myself, which is this crazy dude from Ohio that is enthralled with Horror Movies and believes Horror Movies are real, and it’s not so much of a character anymore.
What are your Top 5 favorite Horror Movies?
SC: Top 5 Horror Movies in no particular order: A Nightmare On Elm Street, the original Halloween, House Of 1,000 Corpses, Trick ‘R Treat, and I have to say the original IT. I absolutely love the original IT. The new one was good, but it wasn’t what the old one was to me with Tim Curry. He’s one of the best character actors of all time. Anything you put him in is a win in my book.
Which Horror Villain would you definitely not want to meet in the ring?
SC: Michael Myers. He was another one that kind of scared me when I was younger. He’s an unstoppable killing force. He gets one vision of you and he obsesses until he either kills you or you kill him. He’s a hard one to take down. Michael Myers doesn’t really have a weakness at the end of the day. If I’m picking a tag-team partner, as far as Horror goes, I’m 100% going with Michael Myers. I already pretty much tag with Michael Myers in fellow oVe member Madman Fulton. But to actually have the real Michael… that might be another level of craziness.
On the special meaning behind his tattoo of Elvira Mistress Of The Dark:
SC: My family were big Elvira fans, from as young as I can remember. She was one of my parents’ favorites. That’s one of the reasons I have it tattooed on my arm. She’s one of the rare ones I haven’t met yet.
What is your favorite type of Horror Movie?
SC: I am a big Slasher fan, but if I had to pick one subgenre, I love Found Footage Horror movies. I think they’re completely entertaining, completely different. It’s more realistic to me. I love the REC movies and the VHS movies. All Found Footage Horror movies are my favorites, even though I don’t think Blair Witch Project was that great.
How do you plan to celebrate Halloween this year?
SC: I haven’t really been able to celebrate Halloween to its full potential the last couple years with my schedule. But, if I’m able to be home on Halloween this year, I’m probably going to be something from the Rob Zombie franchise, because I’m such a big fan of his work and the way his characters look and have evolved over the years.
Candy Corn: Yay or Nay?
Candy Corn, 100% yay. I love candy corn and anyone who says it’s a terrible candy is not a friend of mine. Candy corn is delicious, and I don’t care what anyone says. If anyone ever tries to give me peeps, we’re gonna fight. It’s the worst candy of all time.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Drops $9 Million On Georgia Estate

The Rock has moved to the boonies to live in a massive home on an estate that’s about as big as the town it’s in.
Our real estate sources tell TMZ … Dwayne Johnson plunked down $9,014,000 for an incredible 46-acre mansion in Powder Springs … 45 minutes from Atlanta.
The main house is 14,791 square feet. It has 8 bedrooms, a 12-stall barn, a riding arena with a viewing deck, a pool with a pool house, and a farmhouse built in 1867 that was built for the caretakers.
And, it should be a shock to no one that The Rock paid cash.
So why, you ask, would a world-famous superstar buy a house in a town with barely 15,000 residents? The Rock’s fond of small Georgia towns. Back in March … Dwayne visited his 88-year-old aunt in Jones County and said, “Funny cause it hit me yesterday as I was driving back to Atlanta, that my life is the craziest it’s ever been and I didn’t know much I TRULY NEEDED to go to a place where things can really slow down for me and I can just breathe.”
BUT … it’s not like The Rock will be isolated from civilization … Powder Springs is just 45 minutes away from the nation’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International.
