Bachelor Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell Call Off Their Wedding: What’s Next?

Fact: Relationships can be difficult and complex. No show demonstrates that more than The Bachelor. The hit ABC television show is brimming with drama, but luckily, that tones down immensely once the last rose is bestowed and the couple then moves into the real world. Well, at least some of the time.

Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell were one of the twosomes to come out of the show and their romance has been a veritable whirlwind. This past March, the couple were engaged after the finale of the reality television program’s 20th season. Not only was their love intense, but Higgins proposed with a 4.6-carat, platinum square-cut diamond ring from Neil Lane—coming in at around $95,000. He definitely made it easy for Bushnell to say yes!

Now, the duo have their own reality television show on Freeform—aptly titled Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? The latest episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, as Higgins revealed to Bushnell that he’d like to call off the wedding. Of his choice he said, “I feel like we have so much to figure out that it’s hard for me at this point to really feel comfortable getting married.”

Bushnell replied, “So you’re saying the wedding is off?” which was met with “Yeah, I am” in response from Higgins. But not to fret! The couple are still together, as the former Bachelor himself stated, “I’m not leaving you. I’m not. Don’t think that for a second.” At least we know that love isn’t totally dead.

The blonde beauty was totally fine with the time her groom-to-be needs. “If Ben needs a little more time to feel comfortable getting married, that he should really have it because in the end, it won’t matter if this wedding’s a little bit later,” she confessed.
