Braun Strowman Injury Update, Plans to Face Lesnar Cancelled

As seen on last night’s edition of Raw, Braun Strowman is injured due to some issues with his elbow. The injury is a legitimate one and his brawl with Roman Reigns during the show was done to write him off of television for the next few weeks. The injury is a big setback for Strowman as it looks as though he had been scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. The injury is bad enough that Braun will be missing television in order to undergo surgery. Now that Strowman’s injury has occurred, it seems that WWE may have no choice but to change some of their plans around. 
Brock Lesnar won the Universal Championship from Goldberg at Wrestlemania, and then had a stare down with Strowman the next night on Raw. This was leading to a match between the two of them later on this summer. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio noted that Strowman and Roman Reigns were scheduled to fight each other one more time in the main event of Extreme Rules on June 4th, then Braun was going to face Brock at the inaugural Great Balls of Fire event for the title in July. While the injury is not considered a major one, WWE is still not currently aware of just how long Braun Strowman will be gone. Lesnar is still scheduled to appear at Great Ball of Fire, WWE is said be making creative changes as a result of the injury.
No word on who Brock will be fighting at the July pay-per-view, but he is still being advertised to defend his title at the event. Some names, such as Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, have been rumored to be upcoming opponents for Lesnar since they’ve even challenged him on television. A match with Roman Reigns is also another route that they could go, but WWE is pretty adamant about saving that match for Wrestlemania next year. As of right now though, all plans involving Lesnar are currently up in the air and nothing has been decided as of yet. Strowman, on the other hand, is scheduled to undergo a procedure for his elbow. This should help determine how long he will be out of action for.
