Former Manchester United star Anderson joins Turkish second-tier side

The 30-year-old, who won four Premier League titles and the Champions League at Old Trafford, has been playing in Brazil for the past three years

Former Manchester United midfielder Anderson has returned to European football with Turkish second-tier side Adana Demirspor.

The 30-year-old has spent the past three seasons playing in his native Brazil with Internacional, as well as a brief loan spell with Coritiba.

Anderson made 105 appearances for the Red Devils over eight seasons at Old Trafford, following stints at Gremio and Porto, and played in four victorious Premier League campaigns.

He also featured for United in the 2008 Champions League Final, coming on as an extra-time substitute and scoring in the subsequent shoot-out to help his side to a 6-5 penalty win over Chelsea.

He is  one of seven players who played in Moscow yet to retire, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Nani, Carlos Tevez, Patrice Evra and Wes Brown.

He fell out of favour after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 and made only 10 appearances in his final two seasons, punctured by another loan spell at Fiorentina.

At international level, Anderson represented Brazil eight times and won the 2007 Copa America with the Selecao, as well as an Olympic Bronze Medal at Beijing 2008.

Adana Demirspor play in the TFF First League, the second division of the Turkish football system, where they have been since 2012.
