After defeating Juice Robinson in an incredible and violent match at the Best of the Super Juniors Finals earlier this week, Jon Moxley will open the promotion’s second biggest event of the year in singles competition against one of New Japan’s most promising, up-and-coming Young Lions, Shota Umino.

Umino is the son of legendary referee “Red Shoes” Unno. He he has been training at the NJPW Dojo in Tokyo over the last few years, and made his in-ring debut in April 2017. After a stand-out performance in this year’s New Japan Cup, Umino is on the brink of fully graduating to the status of a main roster star and this match against Moxley, one of the hottest names in the business right now, could be exactly what he needs.
