Kevin Owens Explains Why Universal Title Is More Important Than WWE Title

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens recently spoke with Sky Sports to promote this Sunday’s WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view.

During the interview, Owens did his part to put over the brand he is on and the title he currently holds, as he explained why he feels the Universal Title is a more important title than the WWE Title currently held by AJ Styles.

“I feel the WWE Universal Title is more important that the WWE World Title on Smackdown. Just look at the caliber of the guys vying for the belt and the way it was introduced with Finn Balor, Rusev, Cesaro, myself, Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn and Sheamus in contention.”

Owens also revealed that Brock Lesnar is his ideal “dream opponent” for WrestleMania. The reigning WWE Universal Champion who defends the title against Seth Rollins at Sunday’s WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view had the following to say about a potential match at “The Show of Shows” against “The Beast Incarnate.”

“Brock Lesnar – I’d love to defend the title against him. A lot of people write off anyone who steps into the ring with Brock and not too many people would give me favorable odds, but I think I would surprise a lot of people by not getting annihilated. What’s important for me, though, is to walk into WrestleMania as champion and leave the same way, because that would be a rare feat.”
