Mango launches iPhone app

Spanish retailer Mango is jumping on the iPhone bandwagon and is launching its own application. It will allow users to hear about the latest company news and stay informed of promotions and exclusive discounts. This new application, which allows its content to be shared via e-mail or social networking sites, is available worldwide in English, Spanish, French and German. Users can download it free of charge either on the device via the App Store or on the computer via iTunes.

The application features various sections. In the ‘Collection’ section, users can view images and videos of the new collection, as well as style tips and a fashion blog. It also includes a virtual store and the ‘Mix & Match’ section simulates a virtual Interactive fitting room where users can upload their own photos and dress up in Mango clothes.Additional features include a directory and a store locator, which uses global positioning technology to inform users of the closest Mango store to their current position.

Mango currently has a total of 1,431 stores in 100 countries. In 2010, it will enter Iraq and New Caledonia for the first time. Throughout 2010, the chain plans to increase its number of stores by 150. The locations for the new stores include Beijing, Bogotá, Caracas, Dubai, Kuwait, Lyon, Marrakech, Milan, Moscow and Paris.
