Minnesota State Ranked 10th in NCAA Super Region 3 Preseason Poll

MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota State wrestling team has been ranked 10th in the NCAA Super Region 3 Preseason rankings.

Maryville earned the top spot in the poll with 45 points, with Ouachita Baptist and McKendree rounding out the top-three spots with 37 and 34 points, respectively.

St. Cloud State is the highest-rated NSIC school in the poll coming in at fourth place with 33 points. Augustana (20), Lindenwood (19), Upper Iowa (14), Central Missouri (14), Southwest Minnesota State (11) and Minnesota State (7) rounded out the top-10.

Three Maverick grapplers were ranked in the top-five of their respective weight classes including sophomore Adam Cooling (4th, 157 lbs.), senior Cody Quinn (3rd, 165 lbs.) and sophomore Chris Zimmer (5th, 197 lbs.).

MSU opens its season on Saturday, Nov. 1, as it takes on Rochester Community & Technical College in Rochester, Minn.
