England made history on Tuesday as they won their first ever World Cup knockout match via a penalty shootout.

After a 1-1 draw against Colombia in Moscow, a goalless period of extra-time sent the game to penalties, with Three Lions fans fearing the worst given their nation’s woeful record from spot-kicks.

But Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Kieran Trippier and Eric Dier all converted, while Jordan Pickford saved from Carlos Bacca, to ensure England would reach the quarter-final stage.
