Northland Community and Technical College wrestlers Mitchell Zachman and Phillip Jackson will be competing in this weekend’s NJCAA Wrestling Championships.
Zachman, a 165-pound freshman from Albertville, qualified for the event with a fifth-place finish at the Feb. 14 North Central District Tournament at Iowa Western in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He opens the tournament against Brendan Harkey of Clackamas Community College.
Jackson, a freshman 197-pounder from Pembroke Pines, Fla., punched his ticket to nationals with a sixth-place district tournament finish. Jackson’s first round opponent is Travis Quarterman of Pratt Community College.
The two-day event will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27 at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
