PWG returning with first show since 2019

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is returning with its first show since 2019.

It was announced on Thursday night that PWG will make its return with an event on Sunday, August 1. Further details about the show haven’t been revealed.

This will be PWG’s first event since “The Makings of a Varsity Athlete” in December 2019. The promotion was supposed to run an event titled “KOBE” in March 2020, but that was postponed following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. PWG announced at the time:

Out of concern for the safety of our fans and performers, and to comply with California’s new policy on gatherings of 250 or more people, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla will be postponing our event, KOBE, previously scheduled for March 29, 2020.

While we do have a rescheduled date planned for KOBE, due to the fluidity of the global pandemic we will assess the situation and make an announcement as soon as possible.

Tickets purchased for KOBE will be honored on the rescheduled date, however fans wishing for a refund can do so by contacting merch@prowrestlinggguerrilla.com.

Thank you for your patience, and please stay safe.

Bandido is the current PWG World Champion and was scheduled to defend his title against Jonathan Gresham at KOBE. The Rascalz’s Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz held the PWG Tag Team titles but are now signed to WWE. Xavier & Wentz are now known as MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) in NXT and are the NXT Tag Team Champions.

PWG’s home venue is the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
