A somber John Cena sat down with Renee Young following this weekend’s WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, just moments after losing his chance to headline WrestleMania 34 against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. That match was won by none other than Roman Reigns.
The 16-time world champion confirmed that he was definitely not done in WWE, but admitted that all his side projects outside of the company weren’t doing him any favors as he continues to stretch himself thin. When asked what he would do to find a spot on the upcoming WrestleMania match card, Cena stared off into the distance before mysteriously claiming that he would “step outside the WWE etiquette” if necessary, refusing to answer the panel’s follow-up questions on what, exactly, that meant.
As noted, Cena is expected to face The Undertaker at this year’s big event, although nothing has been confirmed at this time. That does seem to be where WWE is currently headed, but we’ll keep you posted as more information comes in.
