Tag Team title match added to WWE SmackDown

The Street Profits are getting their SmackDown Tag Team title shot at Madison Square Garden.

WWE announced today that The Usos will defend their SmackDown Tag Team titles against The Street Profits when SmackDown comes to Madison Square Garden this Friday. On last week’s episode of the show, The Street Profits defeated The Usos by disqualification in a non-title contender’s match.

Montez Ford hit a frog splash on Jimmy Uso and went to pin him in last week’s match, but Jey Uso broke up the pin and attacked Ford. The referee called for the DQ when Jey wouldn’t leave the ring.

The Usos and Street Profits brawled after the match, with Ford taking out both Usos with a dive to the outside. The Usos had sent Angelo Dawkins into the steel steps prior to that.

Before the main event of last week’s SmackDown, there was an angle where The Usos attacked Finn Balor with the steps. Balor chose to continue with his Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns despite the attack. Reigns retained the title by defeating Balor.

WWE has announced that Balor will get another shot at Reigns’ Universal title at Extreme Rules on Sunday, September 26.

Here’s the updated lineup for Friday’s episode of SmackDown:

Brock Lesnar appears
Edge vs. Seth Rollins
A contract signing for Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship match at Extreme Rules
