WWE SmackDown ratings get a post-Clash of Champions bump

Following Sunday’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view, SmackDown ratings were up four percent this week to an average of 2.578 million viewers.

SmackDown finished fifth for the night on cable in terms of total viewers and was second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.75 rating, trailing only Curse of Oak Island on the History Channel.

Both Raw and SmackDown were up a similar percentage this week. With that, SmackDown’s retention of the Raw audience was similar to last week — coming in at 93 percent.

Year-over-year, SmackDown was down for the first time in five weeks but was only two percent off of its 2016 number.

This Tuesday’s episode was headlined by a six man tag featuring all of the wrestlers in the two biggest matches from Clash of Champions. AJ Styles teamed with Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura to take on Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn & Jinder Mahal. The other thing of interest for the show was a segment with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon where they each explained their actions from Sunday’s PPV.
