Harley Quinn à l’esprit sens dessus dessous…

Rosberg targets repeat of 2014 home success

Nico Rosberg says he looks to return to winning ways at the German Grand Prix, with the Mercedes driver hoping to make it back-to-back victories at Hockenheim.

For the first time this year, Rosberg will not be leading the championship at the start of a race weekend, having relinquished the top spot to team-mate Lewis Hamilton in Budapest last Sunday.

“It was disappointing to lose the race at the first corner in Hungary,” Rosberg said. “But I was really happy with my pace all weekend, so that gives me good confidence moving forwards.

“I’m happy to have the chance to get back in the car again so soon – and especially happy that it’s at my second home race [the 31-year-old lives in Monaco].”

Formula One’s last visit to Germany stretched back to 2014, as contractual and legal issues led to the demise of the event 12 months ago.

Rosberg, who has only won once in the last seven races after claiming the opening four, hopes he can recapture his earlier form at a venue he is familiar with and where he is the most recent winner.

“I had a fantastic day at Hockenheim a few weeks ago driving Mika Häkkinen’s championship-winning car. That really gave me a massive buzz to be back racing in Germany.

“Driving in through the circuit gates brought back so many great memories – from my childhood days at the DTM with my Dad [1982 F1 world champion Keke Rosberg] right through to winning the Grand Prix for myself in 2014. Hopefully I can repeat that this year for the fans and for everybody at Mercedes.

“I’ll be pushing flat out to give them the result they deserve before they get some time to recharge their batteries.”

Rumour About Rs 15 Lakhs Promised By Modi Being Distributed Had Hundreds In Munnar Queuing Up To Open Savings Accounts

In the run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, one of the biggest promises that the BJP and then prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi made was about bringing back the black money and distributing Rs 15 lakhs from it to every Indian citizen.

But after the elections, BJP backtracked on it and the party chief Amit Shah even told in an interview that it was an ‘election jumla’.

Even after this the promise of Rs 15 lakh has refused to die down and keeps on resurfacing now and then, mostly in the form of WhatsApp forwards.Click Here: Cardiff Blues Store

Nasr: ‘Little details holding Sauber back’

Felipe Nasr says that it’s been small things that have prevented Sauber from being more successful in Grand Prix events so far this season, but that he’s optimistic of a big jump im performance once these are addressed.

“Success is always the perfect sum of details,” the Brazilian driver told F1i in an exclusive interview this week. “[We’ve been] battling to get to the points and falling short just because of little details.

“Before the summer break was Hungary, where it was a case of so near and not so far,” he recalled. “The team was counting on the new rear wing, but due to teething problems it did not work the way it was expected to, so we had to postpone its deeper testing to the following week’s race at Hockenheim.”

Rain in Hungary helped Sauber deliver a strong performance in qualifying, but it was back down to earth with a bump in the race after a pit stop left him stuck behind Rio Haryanto in the Mercedes-powered Manor.

“That was a hard blow to our hopes,” Nasr admitted. “We lost so much time behind him that when we managed to get past the guys in front were far ahead and out of reach.

“The good lap times, though, were there until the end, showing that the car also has gained a new breath at least in race conditions.”

The long-awaited new rear wing was finally put into use in German and provided an immediate boost, although tyre and engine issues tempered Nasr’s progress in the race itself.

“I made a great start and jumped some places ahead, but the tyres were visibly deteriorating,” said Nasr, who caught the team out with an unexpected pit stop that cost more time mid-race. “Together with the tyre situation I had been experiencing some strange reactions form the engine that made me stop before the end of the race.”

Despite the disappointing end to the last race before the summer shutdown, Nasr was pleased with the progress made by Sauber which has just been bought out by new owners planning an injection of case into the team int he coming months.

“We managed to collect a lot of information on how to come back, after the holidays, and fight for those elusive points,” he explained. “Some bright lights that gave a more defined outline to our dreams.”

Ricciardo expects ‘close’ Ferrari fight in qualifying

Daniel Ricciardo says he is gearing up for a “close” fight with Ferrari in qualifying at the German Grand Prix, though the Red Bull driver is confident his “really positive” long runs could help him challenge Mercedes on Sunday.

Unlike in Hungary last week, Ricciardo was not able to overhaul the fastest Ferrari in FP2 as he slotted into fifth behind his team-mate Max Verstappen.

Red Bull has shown strong pace across recent races and closed the gap to the Scuderia to just one point in the Constructors’ championship. The Milton Keynes-based outfit did not expect its speed to translate entirely at Hockenheim but Ricciardo sounds confident about his prospects for Saturday’s qualifying session.

“On one lap it is close [with Ferrari] I think we could have got a bit more out of our low fuel run, but it will be close on one lap,” he said. “But the high fuel stuff seemed really positive. So if we can carry that across into Sunday then we can be looking quite nice.”

The Australian adds that Red Bull has a bold target in mind for Sunday’s race.

“We looked closer to the Mercs on high fuel, so that was good. But let’s see what happens on Sunday. But definitely the high fuel was more competitive.”

Ricciardo is making his 100th grand prix appearance in Germany this weekend, having won three for 12 podiums.

Court Rules Employment To Differently-Abled Should Be Provided As Right, Not On Sympathy

The Supreme Court has ruled that a candidate who applied for general category cannot claim the seat reserved for disabled candidates later.

Dismissing a Rajasthan HC order, Justice A.S. Bopanna said: “…employment opportunities to the differently-abled persons are to be provided as a matter of right when a case is made out and there is no need for sympathetic consideration”.

Belgian GP red flagged after huge Magnussen crash

A huge crash for Kevin Magnussen has caused the Belgian Grand Prix to be stopped in order to allow barrier repairs.

Magnussen lost control of his Renault at the top of Radillon, overcorrecting as the rear of the car stepped out and getting pitched into a high-speed spin. The rear of the car clipped a barrier before Magnussen went head-on into another tyre wall, heavily damaging his car.

  • LIVE: Belgian Grand Prix

Magnussen’s headrest flew off in the impact, but the Dane was able to climb out of the car unaided, though he limped away from the wreckage. While the safety car was immediately deployed, the barrier was heavily damaged in the incident and needs extensive repairs.

The race was stopped on lap 10 to allow repairs to be carried out, leaving drivers free to change their tyres during the red flag period. The move benefits race leader Nico Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo who were running first and second, while third-placed Nico Hulkenberg had already stopped for new tyres.

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton also benefit from the stoppage, with the pair – who started from the back row – running fourth and fifth having not stopped before the race was red flagged.

Magnussen joins Marcus Ericsson, Carlos Sainz, Jenson Button and Pascal Wehrlein in retiring from the race after a chaotic start.
