Country Rocker Charlie Daniels: New York Abortion Law Creates 'New Auschwitz'

Veteran country rock star Charlie Daniels took New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to task over the passage of a new law in the Empire State legalizing abortion into the third trimester under some circumstances.

“Watch the wrinkles on Cuomo’s face lengthen as the ramifications of the thousands of murders he has sanctioned come to bear on him,” Charlie Daniels said in a social media post Saturday.

“The NY legislature has created a new Auschiwitz dedicated to the execution of a whole segment of defenseless citizens. Satan is smiling,” the “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” singer said.

Indeed, the New York legislature approved a bill this week that dramatically widens the circumstances under which women can seek abortions.

The law states in part, “Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion, pursuant to this article.”

Daniels spoke out last year against Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer over his immigration agenda.
“Senator Schumer, one time, just one time i’d love to hear you speak about the men and women who bled and died for you with as much compassion as you speak about illegals in this country,” the 82-year-old said.

“Veterans are comitting suicide at the rate of 22 a day and they’re already citizens. Shameful.”

The European Commission — on the day it launched a new diversity strategy — quietly promoted six men and no women to the top civil servant grade within its ranks, according to internal Commission meeting minutes obtained by POLITICO.

The six men promoted to the highest “AD16” grade were chosen from a list of 29 eligible candidates that included 25 men and four women, according to a second Commission document seen by POLITICO.

Staff serving at AD16 and AD15 grades typically either run a department of the Commission or act as deputies to department chiefs, and have decades of administrative experience.

The six men promoted are Ladislav Miko, Jens Nymand Christensen, Xavier Prats Monné, Stephen Quest, Gerassimos Thomas and Roberto Viola.

The four women overlooked for promotion are Karen Banks, Mariana Kotzeva, Katariná Mathernová and Monique Pariat.

This week’s promotions could become a source of embarrassment for the Commission, which has struggled to meet its stated target of putting women in 40 percent of top positions.

Former Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources Kristalina Georgieva last year threatened a hiring freeze for men in light of slow progress.

A European Commission spokesperson said the promotions involve merit-based salary increases and do not come with new responsibilities for those promoted. The spokesperson said the Commission remained committed to “very active talent spotting” at lower management levels to ensure long-term diversity targets are met.

In a parallel set of promotions, Jean-Claude Juncker’s chief of staff Martin Selmayr was promoted to the second-highest grade within the Commission system, known as “AD15.”

Thirteen other staff members also earned the second-highest grade, including Ditte Juul Jorgensen and Linsey McCallum, the two most senior aides to Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager.

Two Brits — McCallum and the director general of the Commission’s tax department, Stephen Quest, who received the highest grade — were promoted, in what may be their last chance to advance in Commission ranks before the U.K. leaves the bloc in 2019.

Under EU staff regulations, staff members with British nationality may be required to resign after Brexit. Günther Oettinger, the new commissioner for human resources, promised in an internal Commission meeting last week that he would fight for British staff to be allowed to stay on as officials after Britain’s exit.

The six staff members promoted to grade AD16 will earn a monthly salary €17,054 before tax, which may over time rise to €18,517.

The 14 staff members promoted to AD15 status — nine men and five women — will earn €15,073 monthly before tax, which may rise to €17,771 in future years.

According to the minutes of the College of Commissioners meeting, Selmayr removed himself from the room for the decision regarding his promotion “to avoid any potential conflict of interest.”

Transgender Actor Asserts Existence of 'Biologically Female Penis'

A man’s penis becomes a female penis once a man declares himself to be transgender, says Indya Moore, one of the players in a transgender-themed TV show on FX network.

The declaration is built on the transgender claim that men who say they are women are actually women. But once the men are women, their bodies are women’s bodies. So men’s penises become female penises.

Moore extended the “female penis” claim by declaring the existence of ‘male vaginas,’ which are presumably carried by women who are living as men.

The “female penis” claim went viral because it spotlights the logic of the transgender ideology, which insists the Department of Justice must blur and forbid any legal or civic recognition of the biological distinctions between the two different and complementary male and female sexes.

This policy must be imposed to ensure that children and adults can easily discard their female or male sex by simply declaring they have an opposite-sex “gender,” or have a “gender identity” which is between male and female, say transgender activists.

A person’s “gender,” say activists, is their personal feeling about being female or male, or something in between. For example, Moore’s feelings are described as “binary,” or neither male nor female.

Moore’s feelings-are-more-important-than-biology logic was explained by another transgender writer:

“Don’t use science to justify your bigotry,” Moore tweeted at critics of the “female penis” claim. “The world is way too weird for that s**t.”

The transgender effort to suppress any recognition that men and women are different and complementary would not matter except for the movement’s political alliance with wealthy progressives and radical feminists who wish to destroy the political power of the male-and-female family.

For example, editors at the New York Times invited a February 7 op-ed which smeared women who reject the political claim that gender is more important than biology. Author Sophie Lewis described the vast majority of women as “terfs”:

Lewis’ radical support for the transgender ideology is logical because she wants to minimize the role of male-and-female families. A review of her book, Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family, says:

But Lewis’ ‘Terf’ smear is also aimed at lesbians who wish to maintain a clear distinction between women and men. For example, former tennis star Martina Navratilova is being slammed by political activists for her growing opposition to transgenderism in sports. The Guardian reported February:

The Guardian also saw fit to quote a man who is living as a woman describing Navratilova as beset by “transphobia,” as if the former tennis star is mentally ill.

Navratilova’s criticism of the transgender ideology is increasingly echoed by women who say the ideology will erase society’s understanding of women — and of lesbians — as biologically, sexually, and socially very different from men.

This “biology matters” argument is also being made by Andrew Sullivan, a British-born gay advocate who led the political push to allow single-sex marriages. In a February article titled “The Nature of Sex,” Sullivan argues that a pending Democratic-drafted bill which provides legal recognition and rights to people who try to live as members of the opposite sex:

The transgender push to create legal rights for people living as members of the opposite sex would also threaten the legal rights won by gays and lesbians, Sullivan writes:

A growing percentage of progressives oppose any recognition of the reality that men and women are different. But conservatives and feminists are championing the normal view that women and men are different, Sullivan wrote:Pol

Polls show the transgender ideology is deeply unpopular, especially among women and parents.

In 2017, Obama told NPR that his promotion of the transgender ideology made it easier for Donald Trump to win the presidency. Multiple polls show that most Americans wish to help and comfort people who think they are a member of the opposite sex, even as they also reject the transgender ideology’s claim that a person’s legal sex is determined by their feeling of “gender identity,” not by biology. A U.K. survey shows a similar mix of some sympathy for people with lopsided opposition to the ideology.

The transgender movement is diverse, so its different factions have different goals and priorities. It includes sexual liberationists, progressives, feminists who wish to blur distinctions between the two sexes, and people who glamorize the distinctions between the two sexes. It includes high-profile children, people who are trying to live as members of the opposite sex, and people trying to “detransition” back to their sex, men who demand sex from lesbians, masculine autogynephiles who say are entitled to women’s’ rights, wealthy donors, politicians, political professionals, and revenue-seeking drug-companies and medical service providers.

Transgender advocates claim that two million Americans say they are transgender to a greater or lesser extent. But very few people who describe themselves as transgender undergo cosmetic surgery of the genitals. Only about 4,118 Americans surgically altered their bodies in hospitals from 2000 to 2014 to appear like members of the opposite sex, according to a pro-transgender medical study.

Yet the gender ideology is rapidly gaining power, aided by huge donations from wealthy individuals and medical companies. In Ohio, for example, in February, a judge forced parents of a teenage girl to give up custody so she can begin a lifetime of drug treatments and surgery that will allow her to appear as a male.

The progressive push to bend Americans’ attitudes and their male-and-female civic society around the idea of “gender identity” has already attacked and cracked many of the popular social rules that help Americans manage the cooperation and competition among and between complementary, different, and equal men and women.

These pro-gender claims have an impact on different-sex bathrooms, shelters for battered women, sports  leagues for girls, hiking groups for boys, K-12 curricula, university  speech codes,   religious freedoms, free speech, the social status of women, parents’ rights in childrearing,  children’s safety,  practices to help teenagers, health outcomes, women’s ideals of beauty, culture and civic society, scientific research, prison safety, civic ceremonies, school rules, men’s sense of masculinity, law enforcement, military culture, and children’s sexual privacy.

New father Rudiger wants to protect his son from 'stupidity' of racism

The Chelsea defender was booed in the London derby against Tottenham after previously reporting racism

Antonio Rudiger has renewed vigour to speak out against racism following the birth of his first child and has slammed the football authorities for leaving black players to face racism alone.

Chelsea defender Rudiger was booed by Tottenham fans at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after the Germany international alleged he was abused during the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Police were unable to find evidence to support or deny Rudiger’s claim and have closed their investigation into the incident, which would be a criminal offence in UK law.

More teams

Three stadium announcements were made at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Rudiger was seen on camera claiming the monkey chants had been made. More broadly, there has been a spike in incidents reported to the UK charity Kick It Out and many of those have been caught on camera in Europe’s top leagues.

Rudiger was delighted to see his team win 2-1 against Spurs but opened up about how he believes the authorities are failing to control the rise in hate crime.

“I’m not trying to offend but you [white] people will never understand what goes through my mind in this moment, or other black players’ minds, I am alone. I am totally alone,” Rudiger said at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s nice if people are speaking up for me but at the end of the day, it just replays. Authority wise I’m alone. I heard about it [being booed]. It’s sad. I don’t know why they would. Maybe it’s because I voiced about the racism.

“If you boo me because of that then you are poor people. I am sorry. This is a sign that we have a very big problem. At the end of the day, I am alone in this case because I am the one who has to swallow this.

“With the win it makes me feel like a bit like, yes OK, but it makes me feel like it will always be like this. For me, in this case, racism won. I’m very careful with this. I’m not in the investigations. I’m not a police officer. I just hope always people do their job right.

“But nothing happened and, to be honest, it was not a surprise. For me, it was not a surprise, because they always get away with it. Not always, sometimes they get punished, but mostly they get away with it.

“The support from my club was there. Also players and everything. For me this was not enough. These people need to be punished. They need educating. It’s a lack of education, simple. We all, even including you, we all failed in this.

“Because if people are really honest, we have so many people coming into the stadium and in that game when it happened against me, Chelsea fans got arrested and why, because Chelsea fans reported the other Chelsea fans who abused [Heung-min] Son.

“So on the other side, nothing happened. It’s the people who were around. And that’s why I say if we don’t stand up, racism won. I will always stand up. It’s not only about myself. It can be homophobic or something like that.

“It’s about standing up for people. I think this is normal. I’m not hurting anyone. I’m not killing anyone. I will always stand up for other people. I will not leave anyone like this.”

Due to the lack of proof over the incident, Rudiger has faced far-fetched claims from some Spurs supporters for making up the incident in December.

Rudiger revealed he went onto have a chat with Harry Kane in doping control after the game and the Spurs captain apologised directly to him on behalf of his club.

Only last week, Porto striker Moussa Marega walked off the pitch in protest after being subjected to racist abuse away at Vitoria Guimaraes. The footage quickly went viral and Rudiger thinks it is a good example of how football fails to understand how it can control these rising tensions.

“There you see, he wants to leave the pitch and his team-mates try to stop him,” Rudiger added. “And there it was clear, everyone heard it. And his own team-mates held him back to stay on the pitch. He was alone. And he was booked for going out because he was racially abused.

“It’s simple; we are alone in this. We have to deal with it in our way. Walking off the pitch doesn’t make sense if they still don’t get punished. Does it make sense to walk off the pitch? I don’t think so.

“As a consequence? This is not a consequence because the consequence maybe I am again the bogeyman. What point is it if I leave the pitch and no-one gets punished?

“At the end, how people write stuff, I will be the booed man again. If there is no punishment for these people, racism won. That’s how I see it.”

Rudiger came into the game against Spurs having seen his partner gave birth to their son Djamal Sahr and he described adding a derby win to the birth of his first child as the best week of his life.

“Definitely. 100% [the best week of my life]. And to win a derby, it is even better. A very good week. This week was a week with ups and downs. But more ups, especially for me because of the birth of my son – the first birth. It was tough days for me but with this win I am very happy.

“I’m very tired right now. I’m happy. Now I’m going to the hospital and finally, he comes home. It’s very tough but with this game, I’m very happy. Firstborn child. I have never experienced this type of emotion or what was going on in my head.”

Now the 26-year-old is a father, he is keen to see his son grow up in a less toxic world and he has renewed vigour to try to speak out against racism.

“Of course because if it happens at football, it is also happening outside and outside my son is going to be growing up,” he concluded. “I will try to do my best. I will do my best to make sure my son is not stupid like other people. Sorry for this word, I don’t have any other words for this.”

The great ‘Made in Britain’ delusion

It’s pointless for the UK to roll over EU trade deals if it can’t prove its exports are homemade.

Updated 2/17/18, 5:38 PM CET

The U.K.’s ambition to chart its own course as a trade champion outside the EU is facing a brutal reality check: Not enough of its exports are actually “Made in Britain.”

After Brexit, Britain’s big hope has been that it can simply “roll over” the EU’s trade agreements with countries around the world like South Korea, Japan and Vietnam. That would mean that the text of the Brussels-Ottawa agreement, for example, would simply be copy and pasted as the new Britain-Canada deal.

There is a problem, however. These deals set tough requirements on where goods are produced to qualify for low tariffs. These “rules of origin” are meant to stop Vietnam, for example, simply re-exporting cheap Chinese goods into the EU. The rules lock in how much of the value of the product must be created locally, adding up all the components, raw materials and know-how.

Cars are a classic example of where Britain is in trouble. British vehicles contain only approximately 44 percent U.K. content, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has said, while the average rules-of-origin level in EU trade deals is 55 percent for cars.

That means U.K.-built cars would not qualify under rolled-over trade deals and would face high tariffs.

“We have a fundamental problem here,” said Peter Holmes, a member of the U.K. Trade Policy Observatory. “The government is just slowly beginning to understand that we can’t just roll over these trade deals,” he added, shortly after having briefed the Department of International Trade on the issue.

As a stop-gap measure, the U.K. government is warming to the idea of staying in EU trade accords during a transition period — which could continue until 2021 or longer. One of the reasons for this change of heart is the challenge posed by rules of origin.

A spokesperson for Britain’s trade department said it was “in discussions with our trading partners about transitioning those trade agreements … to ensure that businesses continue to operate, as much as possible, through their established value and supply chains.”

One-sided trade

Revealingly, EU trade partners like Canada and Japan are signaling a willingness to roll over the terms of their deals with the U.K. post Brexit. This is hardly out of the goodness of their hearts. They realize that they would be able to export tariff-free to the U.K. under those terms, while Britain would fall foul of rules of origin requirements.

“It’s not surprising when third countries tell the U.K. that they are happy to copy and paste EU trade deals,” said a European diplomat close to the Brexit talks. “It’s very smart for them because they keep their market access … [while] U.K. companies would struggle to fulfill rules of origin requirements for their exports.”

This is a problem for the closely interconnected supply chains that many British companies — from carmakers to the aerospace sector — have with other EU countries, which have so far benefited from frictionless trade inside the single market.

“We’re concerned at the possibility that companies which have a footprint in the EU and U.K. could find it more difficult to sell their products on world markets,” said Glenn Vaughan, chief executive of the British Chamber of Commerce in Brussels.

In consequence, British manufacturers could be forced to import fewer parts from abroad, even though the foreign components would often be cheaper and of higher quality.

This risks a knock-on effect on foreign investment if exporters from the U.K. hit a wall because of rules of origin. For Japanese investors, this is a particular concern, as large manufacturers such as Honda and Nissan use the U.K. as their main European production center.

“If there is no profitability of continuing operations in the U.K. — not Japanese only — no private company can continue operations,” Koji Tsuruoka, the Japanese ambassador to the U.K., said in a strong warning last Thursday. “It is as simple as that.”

A cumulative solution

Against this backdrop, Britain’s best hope is that it can agree with its trade partners (and Brussels) a system called “cumulated rules of origins,” said Samuel Lowe, a trade expert at the Center for European Reform.

Under this model, European content would also qualify as originating from Britain — and vice-versa. Put simply, the German components in a British car would still count.

However, this kind of mutual recognition scheme needs three parties to agree. If the EU and U.K. agree on cumulation, any third party seeking a trade deal with Brussels would need to agree to those provisions separately in any deal.

So far, very few trade deals provide for an effective cumulation of rules of origin: The EU-Japan deal is one of the few examples — but it has major limitations. Cars, for example, which are made out of many different components, can’t benefit from the cumulation, an EU official explained.

Other trade partners like the Mercosur bloc, which is already trying to enforce tough rules of origin toward the EU to stop European carmakers from steamrollering the South American market, have little interest in accepting such a cumulation in key industrial sectors.

This means Britain faces an uphill battle in bringing around third countries. “To allow cumulated rules of origins with, for example, South Korea, not only Britain but also the EU would need to negotiate with Seoul,” said Lowe. Every renegotiation comes with a cost, such as counter-demands from the other side, he warned. To reopen the EU’s numerous trade deals would be  lengthy and costly.

“There’s not much incentive for the EU to help Britain here,” Lowe said.

Quand on a l’entraînement, c’est certainement moins difficile… elle-même me l’a dit ! »

», a déclaré Bernadette Chirac.
