FINAL THOUGHTS…
AEW Dynamite is broadcasting live again and, frankly, I think it’s a terrible decision. COVID-19 is still spreading unencumbered through the south, and the health and safety of the performers needs to be AEW’s primary concern. Worst case scenario: one or more performers/crew members get sick, someone dies, and AEW puts on a bad wrestling show. Best case scenario: No one gets sick, no one dies, and AEW still puts on a bad wrestling show.
Because it sucks without an audience. It just does. Nobody loves wrestling more than me but I struggle to watch it while it’s missing one of it’s most vital components, the fans! It’s like watching Standup without a crowd. No matter what, it just won’t be as funny. https://t.co/iUeW2rMJmG

Make no mistake, this show will not be good. The empty arena matches have worn out their welcome, so why not just use what they’ve already taped? Going live again is stupid, dangerous, and seriously disappointing.

Three more title matches have been announced for SmackDown’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
After their previous rematch was interrupted by The Riott Squad, Natalya will be challenging for Charlotte Flair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship at the show. Charlotte won the title from Natalya on an episode of SmackDown last month, which featured Ric Flair making his first appearance on WWE television since his health scare and celebrating with Charlotte.
To further set up their rematch, Natalya bailed on Charlotte & Naomi when they were facing Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan last Tuesday.
The United States Championship will be on the line in a triple threat match at Clash of Champions as Baron Corbin defends against Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler. There was an angle on Tuesday where Roode (who has been feuding with Ziggler for much of his main roster run) challenged Corbin to a title match after they had brawled the week before, but Corbin wouldn’t accept.
There will be three teams in the tag title match at the PPV as well, with The Usos taking on New Day and Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable.
Clash of Champions is WWE’s last PPV of the year and will take place at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on December 17th. AJ Styles defending his WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal is also scheduled for the show.

A search for victims of a catastrophic blaze that reduced a northern California town to ashes intensified on Thursday, as authorities expanded to 630 the number of those reported missing in the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in state history.
At least 63 people have been confirmed dead in the Camp Fire, which erupted a week ago in the drought-parched Sierra foothills 175 miles north of San Francisco and now ranks as one of the most lethal single US wildfires since the turn of the last century.
Authorities attributed the high death toll in part to the staggering speed with which the wind-driven flames, fueled by desiccated scrub and trees, raced with little warning through Paradise, a town of 27,000.
Nearly 12,000 homes and buildings, including most of the town, were incinerated last Thursday night hours after the blaze erupted, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) has said.
What was left was a ghostly, smoky expanse of empty lots covered in ash and strewn with twisted wreckage and debris.
Thousands of additional structures were still threatened by the blaze, and as many as 50,000 people were under evacuation orders at the height of the blaze. An army of firefighters, many from distant states, labored to contain and suppress the flames.
The revised official roster of 630 individuals whose whereabouts and fate remained unknown is more than double the 297 listed earlier in the day by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
California wildfires in pictures: Flames ravage Paradise and celebrity enclave of Malibu
Sheriff Kory Honea said nearly 300 people initially reported as unaccounted for had been found alive. He said the list of missing would keep fluctuating with names being added and others removed, either because they turn up safe or are identified among the dead.
The higher confirmed death toll, and rising number of those unaccounted for, were revealed at an evening news briefing by Honea, who said the remains of seven more Camp Fire victims had been located since Wednesday’s tally of 56.
How the wildfire in Paradise developed
The sheriff has asked relatives of the missing to submit DNA samples to hasten identification of the dead. But he acknowledged some of those unaccounted for may never be conclusively found.
The Butte County disaster coincided with a flurry of smaller blazes in Southern California, including the Woolsey Fire, which has been linked with three fatalities and destroyed at least 500 structures in the mountains and foothills near the Malibu coast west of Los Angeles.
The latest blazes have capped a pair of calamitous wildfire seasons in California that scientists largely attribute to prolonged drought they say is symptomatic of climate change.
The cause of the fires are under investigation. But two electric utilities have said they sustained equipment problems close to the origins of the blazes around the time they were reported.
The White House said on Thursday that President Donald Trump, who has been criticized as having politicized the fires by casting blame on forest mismanagement, plans to visit the fire zones on Saturday to meet displaced residents.
10 California wildfires with largest death toll
Cal Fire said that 40 percent of the Camp Fire’s perimeter had been contained, up from 35 percent, even as the blaze footprint grew 2,000 acres to 141,000 acres (57,000 hectares). Containment of the Woolsey fire grew to 57 percent.
But smoke and soot spread far and wide. Public schools in Sacramento and districts 90 miles (145 km) to the south, and as far away as San Francisco and Oakland, said Friday’s classes would be canceled as the Camp Fire worsened air quality.
Those who survived the flames but lost homes were moving in temporarily with friends or relatives or bunking down in American Red Cross shelters.
At a shelter set in a church in nearby Oroville, a bulletin board was plastered with dozens of photos of missing people, along with messages and phone numbers. Church officials posted lists of names they received in phone calls from people searching for friends and family. Evacuees are asked to check the boards to see if their names appear.
Many others found haven at an encampment that sprang up in the parking lot outside a still-open Walmart store in Paradise, where dozens of evacuees pitched tents or slept in their cars. Part of the lot was roped off as a distribution center for clothes, food and coffee. Portable toilets were also brought in.
Evacuees milling in the parking lot faced morning temperatures that dropped to just above freezing and many wore breathing masks for protection from lingering smoke.
Nicole and Eric Montague, along with their 16-year-old daughter, showed up for free food but have been living with extended family in the neighboring city of Chico, in a one-bedroom apartment filled with 15 people and nine dogs.
They recounted being stunned at how swiftly the fire roared through Paradise the first night.
"We didn’t have any time to react," Eric said. "The news didn’t even know the fire was coming. It just happened so quick."
Nicole said she fled once her home’s mailbox caught fire and neighbors’ propane tanks began exploding. Facing walls of flames and traffic gridlock, her evacuation with her daughter was so harrowing that she called her husband to say farewell.
"I called him and said, ‘Honey, I’m not going to make it. I love you,’" Nicole said.

I am not sure of the last time Fridley High School wrote a thank you letter to Spring Lake Park, but now might be as good of a time as ever. Six years ago the decision was made at Spring Lake Park to let some staff go—one of which was wrestling coach Eric Anderson. As it turns out, that decision might have been the best thing for Anderson and Fridley High School.
In his current tenure at Fridley, Anderson has taken a once, relatively believed afterthought of a wrestling team and has developed it into a legitimate contender.

Anderson admits that when he first arrived at Fridley that there was a decent team, but within a year Anderson was thrust into a complete rebuild of the program as he lost six wrestlers due to graduation during that first year. Continue reading at focus.mnsun.com
Record night for Jackrabbit wrestlers
BROOKINGS, S.D. – It was a night for records at Frost Arena as the South Dakota State University wrestling team moved its dual winning streak to a school-record 12 with an 18-15 victory over West Virginia on Friday night before the largest crowd in the program’s Division I history.
With the win, the 24th-ranked Jackrabbits improved to 13-5 overall and 5-1 against Big 12 Conference opponents. West Virginia dropped to 6-9 overall and 0-3 against Big 12 foes. The dual, which was SDSU’s first since cracking the Division I top 25 for the first time, was witnessed by 1,016 fans.
After West Virginia opened the dual with a pair of victories by decision at heavyweight and 125 pounds, Brance Simms put the Jackrabbits on the board with an 8-4 decision over Cory Stainbrook in the 133-pound bout. The two wrestlers were tied at four through two periods before Simms recorded an escape and takedown midway through the final period, adding a final point with a riding-time advantage of 1 minute and 42 seconds.
Seth Gross gave SDSU a 7-6 lead with a 13-1 major decision over Tony DeAngelo in which he built an 8-0 first-period lead that included a four-point near-fall and two-point near-fall as the period expired.

Alex Kocer followed with another bonus-point victory for the Jackrabbits at 149 pounds, notching a 20-2 technical fall over Zachary Moore. It was the 20th win of the season for Kocer.
The first battle of the night between two ranked wrestlers pitted fifth-ranked Cody Pack of SDSU against 13th-ranked Dylan Cottrell at 157 pounds. A Cottrell takedown and Pack reversal late in the third period, coupled with Cottrell’s minute-plus advantage in riding time sent the match to overtime tied at five. Pack scored a takedown 20 seconds into the extra session and added four-point near-fall to close out the match. The Pack victory pushed the Jackrabbit advantage to 15-6.
In winning his final home match, Pack moved into a tie for eighth place on the Jackrabbit career wins list with Mike Pankratz. Pankratz compiled a 108-27-2 record from 1990-94, while Pack improved to 108-33.
West Virginia’s Connor Flynn ended the Jackrabbit string of wins at four with a 7-2 decision over Luke Zilverberg at 165 pounds.
SDSU prevailed in another closely contested match at 174 pounds as David Kocer recorded a come-from-behind victory. Kocer trailed Ross Renzi, 4-1, heading into the third period, but tied the match with an escape and takedown. Renzi managed an escape with under a minute to go, but a stalling point was awarded to Kocer, who then added a takedown to pull out a 7-5 win. The win was the team-leading 25th of the season for Kocer, who entered the match ranked 30th in the latest NCAA coaches’ panel rankings.
The Mountaineers won each of the last two matches, but failed to pick up any bonus points. Bubba Scheffel downed Brady Ayers, 6-3, at 184 pounds, while 14th-ranked Jacob Smith outlasted 15th-ranked Nate Rotert, 5-4, in the 197-pound weight class.
SDSU will attempt to add to its record streak Sunday afternoon at seventh-ranked Oklahoma. The dual is slated for a 2 p.m. start and will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest and Fox College Sports Central.

WWE Veteran Billy Gunn was recently a guest on The Ring, The Cage, and The Stage show. During the interview, Gunn started off by talking about The WWE Hall Of Fame and said that he would like to see The New Age Outlaws inducted before anything, even DX. He also talked about the politics behind the ceremony and why Chyna should have been in the Hall of Fame before anyone else, as seen below:
“She [Chyna] deserves it more than anyone that’s in there right now,” Gunn said. “That’s a huge sore subject with me. It’s just bulls–t! I just think Chyna should have been in a long time ago. She did more. It’s who they send. It’s political, they send who they want to send, and that’s wrong. You send who deserves to go. It’s about what you’ve done and contributed to this business and what legacy you left.”
Gunn was fired by WWE in 2015 for failing a test for performance-enhancing drugs. He noted that there was more to the story, as seen below:
“There’s a lot more to it [getting fired from WWE for failing his PED Test]. The strength and conditioning coach at the Performance Center came to me to do a powerlifting contest. So I trained for it, they tested me, then someone leaked the information about failing my PED test. More to it, but I would rather hold up my end of the bargain to not talk about it. People thought I was doing it to cheat, but I wasn’t. I’m 50 years old, I was on the drug because my levels were completely drained. That’s about it. I don’t hold any grudges, it was bad on my part, but I told them, and didn’t hide anything either.”
One of Billy Gunn’s first tag team partners was Bart Gunn (Mike Polchlopek) and they worked together as The Smoking Guns from 1993 to 1996. Gunn commented about his former partner’s match with Eric Esch, better known as Butterbean. Bart Gunn ended up in a legitimate match with the boxer and MMA legend at WrestleMania XV, who knocked Gunn out in 34 seconds.
“They were really good until he [Mike Polchlopek] started to box, that’s not what he does. Mike just hits really hard like I told JR, “you’re in a hell of a surprise, he’s going to whip everyone out.” Mike tried to box and be cute, but that’s what they wanted him to do. Mike is just very willing to want the office wants him to do. He wants another shot bad, he can’t stand it.”
From 2001 to 2002, Billy Gunn teamed up with Chuck Palumbo and they were given a gimmick where they were an ambiguously gay couple. Gunn saw the storyline as a way to become a character and challenge himself.
“They knew what we were doing and that it was amazing,” Gunn said. “They didn’t understand it at first, but once they did, they thought it was pretty entertaining. There wasn’t any bad backlash. A lot of people do say “can’t believe that you did that.” Why? That challenge me as a performance. Trying to pull off a character, you have to believe in it or the fans won’t believe it.”
