Emmy Rossum has already said yes to her groom-to-be and now she’s revealing which designer she’s said yes to for her wedding dress. The actress confessed that fashion icon Carolina Herrera will be the designer of the gown for her ceremony.
The raven-haired beauty was wearing one of the brand’s designs with David Webb earrings at an event that honored the sartorial legend when she divulged the news—at An Evening Honoring Carolina Herrera in New York City on Tuesday night. “When I got engaged last year, I was most excited to tell my mother, but my second most excited call was to Mrs. Herrera,” she told the audience at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. “I knew without question that only she could make the wedding dress of my dreams, and she has approached that task with the same care, elegance, and enthusiasm that only she can. She sent me the first round of sketches in a beautiful bound book with detailed drawings and descriptions.”

After Rossum’s kind words, Diana Ross graced the stage to perform a string of hits, including “I’m Coming Out” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Then Late Night host Seth Meyers closed out the remarks with a hilarious story about his 2013 wedding to his wife Alexi Ashe, where she got a terrible bout of food poisoning but rallied thanks to her Carolina Herrera wedding gown.
The Shameless star has worn Herrera’s pieces on more than a few occasions, even thanking her in a post on Instagram after wearing the brand at the New York Botanical Garden’s 2015 Conservatory Ball. “Look at how fabulous she is, like a fashion fairy godmother watching over to be sure the fit is perfect,” she captioned her post from 18 months ago. “She is kind, elegant, wickedly funny and I’m lucky to call Carolina my friend.” Rossum also attended Herrera’s Fall 2016 fashion show during New York Fashion Week in February.
And Herrera is truly the designer to the stars. Olivia Palermo, Christina Ricci, and Peyton List—all of whom were in attendance last night—are just a few of the style stars who have chosen her looks, both on and off the red carpet.

Rossum and fiancé Sam Esmail were engaged in August 2015. They’ve taken to the red carpet together, but have kept quite mum when it comes to their wedding date. Perhaps this means that 2017 will be the magical year for the couple? Naturally, we’re now patiently awaiting seeing this dress.
