Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi’s bail was rejected yesterday for the second time by the Westminster Magistrate Court. Infact, they feared that Modi wasn’t cooperating in the investigation and could fly out. During the hearing, the UK court even shared some light-hearted moments talking about Modi and Mallya sharing the same cell in India.
Westminster Magistrates Court Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot said that she was feeling a sense of “deja vu” because she was the one to have ordered the extradition of Mallya in December last year. The judge even asked which part of India will Modi be put in.
