Kenny Omega & Xavier Woods Take Shots At Each Other Again On Social Media

There appears to be a social media rivalry brewing once again between WWE’s Xavier Woods and AEW’s Kenny Omega, with the top talents from rival promotions taking shots at each other in new tweets posted this weekend.

Things got started on Saturday when The New Day member took to Twitter to post what appeared to be a challenge to the AAA Mega Champion and and AEW Executive Vice President for a rematch of their infamous Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition showdown from the 2018 E3 Convention.

“(On 11/15/19 you said give you 24 hours. Times been up… where you at?) As you can see I’m now sitting at A5,” wrote Woods via Twitter on Saturday, along with two photos, one of his new tablet and the other of a screen-shot of the aforementioned Street Fighter video game. “Got my eyes on champion, you wanna come at me? Add me and let’s throw down!”

For those who missed it, Woods and Omega were involved in a heavily-promoted battle at the 2018 E3 Convention last June, with WWE even jumping in to promote The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega vs. The New Day in the video game showdown.

Their match was featured in-depth on ‘Being The Elite’ in June of 2018 in an episode called “It’s A New Day” prior to the launch of rival promotion to WWE and NXT — All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

At the 2018 E3 Convention, The New Day would defeat Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks via final score of 2-to-1, with Omega besting Big E. being the lone victory for The Elite squad in the three-game competition. Also earning victories were Kofi Kingston over Nick Jackson and Xavier Woods over Matt Jackson. Watch the complete video of The New Day vs. The Elite from E3 here.

Omega chimed in on his own Twitter account on Saturday to fire a response back at the apparent challenge from Woods, taking a shot at The New Day members’ current Achilles injury situation in the process.

“You can’t fool me, that’s clearly an illegal sized tablet,” wrote Omega via Twitter on Saturday. “But hey, take any unsportsmanlike advantage you want – I’ll rip your deck to shreds worse than the current state of your Achilles’ tendon!”

The WWE Superstar would take a shot back at the AEW Superstar in the most recent tweet from the Woods-Omega Twitter exchange on Saturday, taking a shot at his recent losing streak in the process.

“First of all my Achilles has been repaired,” wrote Woods. “Its not as you say ripped to shreds. The least you could do is keep up with my injury considering I kept up with your losing streak.”
