Details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s upcoming DLC and canceled campaign, as well as solutions to some of its Easter Egg mysteries, may have been revealed over the weekend.
Eurogamer reports that someone claiming to be a recently fired Treyarch quality assurance tester posted the info to Reddit under the since-deleted CallofNobodyCares account.
Reddit user CadzTrikz, however, reposted all of the leaked info, and players proceeded to verify that the Zombies Easter egg solutions were legitimate.
The remainder of this story contains potential spoilers.
According to the leak, Black Ops 4’s first DLC pack is a prequel to the game’s Chaos storyline that revolves around four new characters attending a mansion party. Everyone else at the party is said to be of the paranormal variety: zombies, ghosts, werewolves, and even Nosferatu. CallofNobodyCares also claimed the DLC will be full of secret chambers and will have an upgradable German “wonder weapon” based on Black Ops 4’s Ray Gun.
In addition to this first DLC pack, all subsequent packs are said to feature one Zombie map. Treyarch also plans to add Nuketown Zombies content at some point as well as more maps following the Aether storyline. A four-versus-four mode is also planned for Zombies, but there is a possibility it will be canceled.
Speaking of canceled modes, Treyarch was supposedly working on a campaign mode for Black Ops 4 as recently as mid-2017. The campaign was being designed as a two-versus-two co-operative race to finish each mission. Treyarch is said to have given up on the mode to allow it to focus on its desire to create more multiplayer maps.
As for the Easter eggs, CallofNobodyCares provided a number of solutions. Among them were the last steps for unlocking the Viking Funeral Easter egg on the IX mission that ends with a random power-up and a rock performance.
Elsewhere, he told players how to upgrade the Golden Spork into the Sporkknife by collecting stones and placing them in certain spots during the Blood of the Dead Mission. CallofNobodyCares also provided solutions to the Voyage of Despair mission’s Engine Room valves mystery and the steps for getting the character Samantha to explain the “Crooked Man in a Crooked House” riddle in the Classified mission.
Earlier this month, Treyarch added a new boss enemy to Black Ops 4 and made a companion app available for download. Fans aren’t happy with all of Treyarch’s plans for Black Ops 4, however, and many have complained about microtransactions.
