In what could be an indication of things to come, WWE Superstar Hideo Itami has changed the name on his official Twitter account back to “KENTA”, a stylization of his real name (Kenta Kobayashi) that he used for nearly 14 years in wrestling before signing with WWE in 2014.

Itami was brought into NXT with a huge wave of momentum, coming in as one of the top stars and long-time anchors of Pro Wrestling Noah. Unfortunately, multiple serious injuries severely delayed his progress and it took more than three years for him to gain any real traction on NXT television.
In late 2017 he was moved to the 205 Live brand. While he has found slightly more consistent success there, hovering near contention to the Cruiserweight Championship at times, any frustration with his place in the company would be understandable. On Sunday at Royal Rumble he competed in a Fatal 4-Way match for the title, coming up short in a match that also included champion Buddy Murphy and fellow challengers Akira Tozawa and Kalisto.
