Jericho/NJPW Update, MYC Star Banned From US, Braxton Robbed

Chris Jericho shocked the wrestling world earlier this year when he returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling for the first time in years for a match against Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom. What was once thought to be a one-off appearance for Jericho in Japan turned into several more appearances, and he even now holds the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. Jericho has barely been seen on New Japan programming at all lately, but that is expected to change very soon. According to Cageside Seats, the plan is for Jericho to return to NJPW during their Power Struggle show, which is currently set to take place in November. Jericho will also reportedly be putting his title on the line against EVIL during the event.
As seen on last night’s episode of the Mae Young Classic, Nicole Matthews was able to defeat NXT UK Superstar Isla Dawn in order to move on to the second round of the tournament. Unfortunately, her status for future wrestling events in the US could be in jeopardy. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Matthews ran into some issues when it came to crossing the US border not too long ago, and she is now reportedly banned from entering the country for five years. The Canadian wrestler has competed in several promotions in her home country, as well as for promotions such as Shimmer over the years. The good news is that all of her matches in this year’s Mae Young Classic tournament were taped several weeks ago.
WWE Superstars and plenty of other wrestlers have all talked about having their items and belongings stolen from them in the past. It is an issue that is sadly common in the industry, but it appears that NXT announcer Kayla Braxton is the latest victim to have her personal items taken from her. Braxton took to Twitter to announce that an employee working at a 7-Eleven store took the money out of her wallet before tossing it in a dumpster in the back of the store. Police were eventually called as the employee handed back the wallet to Braxton but not the cash that was removed from it. When Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to 7-Eleven for comment, the company didn’t release any sort of statement on the matter.

@7eleven – today one of your Orlando employees stole my wallet, took the cash out of it and threw it in the dumpster behind the store. I called the police. After an hour the cops got the employee to show them to the wallet – but no cash. Please resolve this ASAP. Unacceptable.
