Video: DDP Says "Hulk Hogan Has Spent His Time," Hopes WWE Brings Him Back

TMZ Sports recently caught up with WWE Hall Of Famer Diamond Dallas Page and asked him for his thoughts regarding whether or not WWE should bring back Hulk Hogan.

DDP credited “The Hulkster” for helping him with his rise to the top in the now defunct WCW promotion during the late 1990s and early 2000s and said he hopes WWE eventually brings him back into the fold.

“To me, at some point Hulk [Hogan] has to come back,” said DDP. “I’m hoping that gets seen on the WWE side, because [I’m] a big Hulk Hogan fan.”

DDP continued, “He was really one of the guys who was instrumental in helping me get up to that spot as the top guy. Because he believed in me, and when I won the World Title that night of the match he was in there: me, Flair, Sting and Hogan.”

“Hulk, he’s spent his time,” Page added. “I don’t think anybody believes that Hulk – in anyway – has any racist bone in his body. Bottom line is he’s a good man and I hope to God he gets to come back.”

Chael Sonnen Says He "Pissed Off" WWE After Turning Down WrestleMania 32 Offer

Bellator MMA contender and former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen recently appeared as a guest on CBS Sports’ In This Corner podcast.

During his appearance on the show, Sonnen, who is currently in the semifinals of the Bellator MMA Heavyweight Championship Grand Prix tournament, revealed that he was extended an invitation from WWE to compete in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.

“I kind of pissed those guys off,” Sonnen said. “I was asked to be a contestant in a [battle royal] and I wasn’t against it, but I just couldn’t get the date. I actually worked hard and I tried to clear it. I tried to do it but [WWE] thought I blew them off. I haven’t really heard back and whenever they come to down, they invite me and give me and some friends some really good tickets and we have a real blast.”

Sonnen also revealed that in 2014, he was offered a $5 million contract to end the remainder of his contract with the UFC and move on to WWE. He spoke about declining that offer as well.

“I was still under contract with the UFC and I never took this to Dana,” said Sonnen. “I handled it on my own. I told [WWE], ‘No’ and that was the end of that. I never told Dana White this story, but here’s why I didn’t tell him. I knew if I called Dana and said, ‘I’ve got a $5 million offer from Vince McMahon,’ Dana would have matched it.”

— It appears that not only is WWE not clearing Paige for any in-ring wrestling, but she isn’t even cleared for any sort of physicality while at ringside which would be the reason that on Raw this past week, she stayed several feet away from any action.

— Neither the company nor Paige has made any official comment on her status because technically she isn’t retired, but she has privately told multiple people that WWE’s medical team is not going to be clearing her to wrestle but that she’s been assured that they have other non-wrestling plans for her, probably at least for the duration of her current contract.

WWE Confirms All PPVs Will Be Joint-Brand Shows Going Forward

Luke Gallows On Who He'd Like To Add To The Balor Club, D-X Segment At RAW 25

Luke Gallows recently took part in an international media conference call. The folks at SoloWrestling.com sent along the following recap of questions that were asked of the WWE Superstar during the call.

On whether or not the D-X and The Balor Club segment on RAW 25 symbolized the passing of the torch: “It was a surreal moment for Karl [Anderson] and I. This is why we got into the business. This is why we do what we do. We grew up watching these guys and to share the ring with them, and for them to ‘pass the torch’ or whatever you want to call it. It was very symbolic for us. I have the picture up at home with all of us throwing up the ‘Too Sweet’ sign. I was very proud of that moment.”

On if he prefers having The Club with A.J. Styles or Finn Balor: “I think we are both unique, and both talented, but what I would rather have is a four-man faction with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Finn Balor and myself. Add Tama Tonga and Bad Luck Fale while we are at it and let’s just take over the entire WWE once and for all.”

On being back in WWE and how it compares to how life was like when he was working in Japan: “When Karl [Anderson] and I jumped the rail and made our debut on RAW in Los Angeles, California, we had some trepidation because we are very highly confident guys and we know that we are highly capable, but we didn’t know whether or not the WWE Universe knew who we were. So, when we jumped the rail and we heard that reaction and felt as though they were happy to see us, it felt like it was icing on the cake for what has been an incredible WWE run with more to come.”

Impact Wrestling Viewership Increases This Week (3/22)

The numbers are in for this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV.

The Thursday, March 22nd edition of Impact Wrestling drew 362,000 total viewers to Pop TV, according to ShowbuzzDaily.com.

By comparison, last week’s edition of Impact Wrestling drew 350,000 total viewers to Pop TV, marking an increase of 12,000 viewers for this week’s show, which featured the reveal of the Feast or Fired briefcases.

'Obamacare' Bends for Big Business… Again

In a bow to big business, the Obama administration announced late Tuesday that the ‘Obama Care’ employer mandate, which requires employers to offer healthcare or face fines, would be postponed until at least 2015.

The other provisions of the Affordable Care Act—or ‘Obamacare—are slated to go through as scheduled, the Obama administration says.

The one-year delay of what Obama touted as a ‘key provision’ to his plan will apply to businesses that employ 50 or more full-time workers. The change was announced by the Treasury Department as a concession to big business after employer complaints over the rule’s complexity, it said.

Critics charge that this latest delay exposes an underlying truth: Obamacare has been a concession to big business all along, aimed at deepening the privatization of the U.S. health care industry that is responsible for the current crisis.

“The whole bill is built around the needs of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries,” Ida Hellander, director of health policy and programs for Physicians for a National Health Program, told Common Dreams. “The delay is just a symptom of this bill being too complicated and too burdensome for the many people who will be uninsured or under-insured under Obamacare.”

Single-payer healthcare advocates blast the bill that will leave many without insurance, or with inadequate insurance, while fattening the coffers of the private insurance industry responsible for the current healthcare crisis that has ranked the U.S. lowest in life expectancy among the world’s ‘wealthiest’ nations.

“This is is one more piece of evidence that we will have to replace the current healthcare system with HR 676—the improved and extended medicare for all, single payer bill that provides coverage for everyone,” Don Bechler, chair of Single Payer Now, told Common Dreams.

Furthermore, critics charge that Obamacare’s complex web of publicly and privately funded insurance plans are complicated, fragmented, and simply leave many people out of the equation. A recent Health Affairs study finds that approximately 30 million in the U.S. will remain uninsured under Obamacare.

“What we are seeing is a tremendous fragmentation of our health system,” says Hellander. “This is the natural result of centralizing the private healthcare industry. We have already had a 50-year experiment with private healthcare. It has been a failure.”
