Conway’s comments come days after aides to both major party nominees sparred over their respective presidential campaigns during a traditional post-election meeting. During that event, Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri said she would rather lose than win in the way the Trump campaign did. “If providing a platform for white supremacists makes me a brilliant tactician, I am proud to have lost,” Palmieri said. Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, shot back: “Do you think I ran a campaign where white supremacists had a platform?”  Conway said Sunday the Clinton campaign can say what they want about her and her team. “We’ve got very broad shoulders over here as you can imagine,” she said. But she condemned the effort to “besmirch the 60 million hard-working men and women” who became a part of the Trump movement. “To besmirch those voters is really beyond the pale to me,” she said. Conway added that during the forum, she also credited Clinton’s team as brilliant strategists.
