UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw was injured while preparing for his title defense against former champion Renan Barao and the fight is no longer moving forward. Dillashaw suffered an injury to his rib and there is no word on if Barao will fight a substitute nor what the status is of Dillashaw’s recovery time.
Dillashaw vs. Barao was scheduled as the main-event of the April 25th show in Montreal. This marks the first significant fight of 2015 to be canceled due to injury.
Demetrious Johnson vs. Kyoji Horiguchi for the UFC Flyweight Title will most likely slide into the main-event slot now. Previously slated as the co main-event, Johnson will look to make his 6th title defense.
While a blow, the card itself is still relatively deep, as it currently features the return of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to the UFC as he takes on Brazilian Fabio Maldonado, though the status of that fight may change as Bellator has been attempting to get an injuction ordered that would prevent the fight from moving forward. Michael Bisping squaring off with C.B. Dollaway marks the other main attraction of the night.
